Mosaic Crochet Workshop UK - Esme Crick

Create sensational throws and accessories with this vibrant guide to mosaic crochet.

Mosaic crochet is a cutting-edge technique that allows you to work two-colour patterns without having to change yarns in one row. Simply skip stitches in one row and connect them by filling in with the alternate colour two rows later. This produces incredible modern geometric patterns that look amazing at throws, afghans, pillows, rugs, bags and more.

In this glorious celebration of colour and yarn, Esme Crick of Red Sparrow Crochet, shows you how to make 12 statement throws and a further 12 spin-off designs for smaller projects, showing how using alternative yarn colours with the same pattern can create completely different results. With full step-by-step guidance on the mosaic stitch, charts for all the mosaic crochet patterns, and 24 projects to make with full written patterns, this stylish modern crochet book will change the way you approach crochet colourwork forever and give you a wealth of beautiful throws and accessories for your home.

This book is available in English (UK terminology).

Grazie

Laine Magazine – 52 weeks of socks

The book contains 52 knitting patterns for socks and slippers. The patterns feature a range of different techniques and textures, such as lace, cables, tuck stitches, colourwork, duplicate stitching and felting. All patterns come in 2 sizes. The book is suitable for both beginners and advanced sock knitters alike, as the difficulty level of patterns varies greatly. And as always in knitting (and in everything in life, really): you learn as you go.

With 256 pages and a weight of 1100 g (2.5 lb) this is a hardcover book with a capital B. The woven cover, uncoated paper and a ribbon place marker make it feel extra special – it is an item you want to keep on your coffee table, a book that will make even non-sock knitters want to cast on.

Laine Magazine – Fair Isle Weekend

Fair Isle Weekend takes you on an exciting trip to Fair Isle, a windswept island in Shetland, famous for its traditional colourwork knitting. During her many trips to Fair Isle, Mary Jane has been fascinated and inspired by the island's rich textile traditions, learning about Fair Isle knitting by looking at old textiles and sharing stories and knowledge around a cup of tea. Now, she has created a gorgeous collection of designs which she would take with her for a weekend trip to Shetland when a carry-on bag is all you take with you.

“So I invite you to join us, this small band of traveling friends, sharing a little glimpse of the isle from my outsider’s perspective. I offer you a small collection in my own style of Fair Isle knitting, which I hope honors the tradition, even though my work isn’t especially traditional."

Mary Jane Mucklestone is a knitwear designer, teacher and author who has specialized in Fair Isle knitting, also called stranded knitting. Her work has been featured in publications like Vogue Knitting, Interweave Knits and various books. Mary Jane has a varied background in art and textiles earning a BFA in Printmaking from Pratt Institute, studying fashion at Parsons School of Design and Textiles and Historic Costume at the University of Washington. With her friend Gudrun Jonston, they host popular once in a lifetime trips to Shetland. Fair Isle Weekend will be her fifth book. Find more about Mary Jane at MaryJaneMucklestone.com.

This hardcover book contains 8 beautiful colourwork patterns ranging from small projects like wristlets to yoked sweaters (2 sweaters, 1 vest, 2 hats, 1 cowl, 1 pair of fingerless mitts, 1 pair of wristlets).
